With two staff members, vacations and other events require that we close the office periodically during the lunch hour. You may wish to call to confirm that the office is open before stopping at the City Building Office during lunch hours. Thank you.

Speed Limits in Southgate
The speed limit on city streets is 20 mph unless otherwise marked. Some streets are marked at 15 mph. Please drive safely and obey all traffic control devices.
2011 City Tax Bills
Tax bills will be mailed directly to property owners in early October. Due date for payment is Nov 30th. City tax rate set at 4.75 per $1000 valuation; Fire House tax rate at .469 per $1000; Southgate School tax rate at 8.80 per $1000. Residential waste collection per unit remains at $124. Penalty of 10 percent and interest at 12 percent per annum assessed against delinquent bills beginning December 1st.

| LARGE ITEM TRASH PICKUP - FIRST TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH Tuesday June 5, 8:00 AM - The efforts to clean up Southgate plus the blight program have led City leaders to arrange for a once per month "large item" pickup for residents. The "Large Item Day" will be the first Tuesday of every month. Items for pick up will be furniture, appliances, and is limited to one or two items Large items do not include excessive yard debris, tree limbs or construction materials. Items with freon are not accepted. Please call CSI at 513-771-4200 to report that you have a large item and a general description of the items in advance so they can prepare for the type of truck sent on this day.
