The blight program that was initiated in the Spring of 2008 has had a positive and quick impact on the community. 

Our efforts to cleanup our city and the blight program have led the city leaders to arrange for a once a month "large item" pickup for our residents.  The "Large Item Day" will be the first Tuesday of every month.  Items for pickup will be furniture, appliances, etc.  This pickup is not meant for debris, yard waste, tree trimmings, etc. and those items will not be picked up but left at your curb.

Please call CSI at 513-771-4200 to report you have a large item and what the items is ahead of time so they can prepare for the type of truck sent on this day.

If you would like to rent a trash toter from CSI to help keep our city cleaner and nicer contact CSI at 513-771-7200.   They are light weight and easy to roll back and forth from house to curb.  They keep animals out of your trash and seldom get blown over.  Toters come in 65 gallon and 95 gallon and rent for $3.50 a month. A smaller toter may be available for re-cycling use - check with CSI.

The City of Southgate will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 31st.  Trick or Treat Hours will be from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm.  At 7:30 the fire siren will blow which is a signal to go to the VFW for a Costume contest and drinks.  Happy Trick or Treating and be safe!!

After tax bills have been mailed this year, (first week of October) you will be able to view your tax bills on line and check to see if they have been paid by either you or your morgage company.  Another service the city if offering to our residents!  You will not be able to pay your bills on line at this time.  In the future we are hoping to send reminders via e-mail to those who have not paid their tax bills.  Our new tax program is capable of holding e-mail addresses and phone numbers for residents.  This information could be very useful to the city in time of emergencies, to send reminders or even send our city newsletter via e-mail.  If you would like the city to do this please send an e-mail to Clerk@southgateky.org and supply us with your e-mail address and phone number.  Thank you.
