Should a reasonable request for accommodations be received, then arrangements will be made.

With two staff members, vacations and other events require that we close the office periodically during the lunch hour. You may wish to call to confirm that the office is open before stopping at the City Building Office during lunch hours.  Thank you.



Tuesday September 2, 8:00 AM -

"Large Item Day" is the first Tuesday of every month. Items for pick up are furniture, appliances - limited to one or two items.  Large items do not include excessive yard debris, tree limbs or construction materials. Items with freon are not accepted. Please call CSI Republic Svcs at 513-771-4200 to report a large item for pickup and a general description of the items in advance so arrangements may be made for the type of truck sent on this day. City of Southgate will be holding a Public Hearing re: tax rates for 2014/15 on Wed. Sept. 3 at 6:15 pm in Council Chambers before the regular meeting.

Council Meetings

City Council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at the City Building, 122 Electric Ave  and begin at 6:30 p.m). If you are mobility impaired and wish to attend a council meeting, please notify the City Clerk @ 441-0075 or

City Wide Yard Sale
Saturday September 13, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Pick up application at the City building or click link below to join the City wide yard sale.  A list will be available prior to the sale of all participating residents.  Non perishable food items will be collected as payment for application fee.  These items will be donated to the New Hope Methodist Church food pantry. Any items residents would like to donate after the sale may do so by loading on a truck that will be parked at the City building.  These donations will go to St. Vincent De Paul and the Owsley County KY community that the Boy Scouts troop #751 will deliver.                            2014 Yard sale permit
