Southgate Fire Department Fish Fry & Open House April 2nd
The fish fry in Southgate moves to the New Fire Station at 128 Electric Ave on Friday, April 2nd, 4 pm -8:30 pm. Same great fish at prices you've come to love at St. Therese. $5.00 for sandwiches or $7.00  platters (baked or fried); various sides available. Beer, soft drinks and desserts at reasonable prices. For curb side service pull into the driveway of the old station. Please stop in and tour the Fire House.  
Senate Bill 124 - Support!

Senate Bill 124 is pending in the General Assembly with respect to local government participation in the state health plan (i.e. Highland Heights-Southgate Police). Passage of this bill will lead to a $33,000.00 savings to the City of Southgate and $97,000.00 for the Highland Heights-Southgate Police Authority. Please show your support for this legislation by contacting Representatives Keene, Fischer, Kerr, Simpson, Santoro, Koenig, McKee, Webb-Eddington & Wuchner to support its passage. CENSUS 2010
Constituents must complete & mail back their census forms between 3-15-10 & 4-15-10. The good news is that the 2010 questionnaire is one of the shortest in history-just 10 questions that only take 10 minutes to complete. It is hoped that you will participate in the 2010 Census. Visit http://2010.census.gov/2010census/take10map/ now to see this area's 2000 Census mail participation rate and check the site daily for updates beginning March 22nd.  
LARGE ITEM TRASH PICKUP - FIRST TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH

The efforts to clean up Southgate plus the blight program have led City leaders to arrange for a once a month "large item" pickup for residents.  The "Large Item Day" will be the first Tuesday of every month.  Items for pick up will be furniture, appliances, etc. Large items do not include excessive yard debris, tree limbs or construction materials. Items with freon are not accepted.

Please call CSI at 513-771-4200 to report that you have a large item and what the items are in advance so they can prepare for the type of truck sent on this day.

Celebration of Arbor Day, announcements of local student poster award winners - Friday, April 23, 2010, 1:00-2:30 pm at the Community Center, 301 Walnut St.  
Income Tax Help

One Stop Northern Kentucky is once again partnering with Northern Kentucky University and Brighton Center to provide free income tax preparation for the year 2009. The program will kick off on Saturday, January 30, 2010 and run thru Saturday, April 10th and each Saturday in between. 

The taxes will be prepared by qualified NKU students in the financial field. Times will be from 10am until 3pm at the One Stop location, 8020 Veterans Memorial Drive, Florence, Ky. (Behind the Florence City Bldg) Please bring a valid picture ID, Social security cards for you and any others shown on the tax return, all W-2's, and financial documents that may apply. There will be six tax preparers on hand and the tax returns will be done on a first come first serve basis.

HHSP (Police) Board Meetings

Highland Heights-Southgate Police (HHSP) Authority board meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm at the old Highland Heights Elementary School on Main St (off Renshaw) in Highland Heights. Non-emergency phone number: 441-8956.

 

VIEW TAX BILLS ON LINE

UNPAID 2009 TAX- DELINQUENT NOV. 30, 2009

Tax bills were mailed in October and  may be viewed on- line.   The tax program is capable of holding e-mail addresses and phone numbers for residents.  This information might be useful to the city in an emergency, to send reminders, or to send the city newsletter via e-mail.  If you  are interested, please send an e-mail to clerk@southgateky.org and supply us with your e-mail address and/or phone number.  This information WILL NOT be shared with anyone.  Thank you.
